Prayerful and faithful as I have always been, I am convinced that it was God who blazed my path to be of service to others and give all glory to Him ….”

Cognizant of the fact that the accountancy profession continues to face unprecedented challenges, President Alcala shared during the event PICPA’s roadmap in playing forward to secure a sustainable future for the CPAs.
According to the International Federation of Accountants, the profession is projected to face three major realities:
1. increasing use of sophisticated and smart technologies to enhance traditional ways of working;
2. the continued globalization that could potentially create more opportunities and challenges for members of the accountancy profession; and
3. increased regulation which are likely to have the greatest impact for the years to come
In the past years, it is evident that PICPA and the Filipino CPAs displayed resilience amid challenging times and realized the importance of transforming by embracing possibilities and realizing potentials.
More than ever, the Philippine Institute for Certified Public Accountants shall play it forward this year. PICPA is set to continue moving forward with mechanisms anchored on five strategic pillars to set the direction and provide the foundation for all programs and projects of PICPA for fiscal year 2022-2023 which are essential in realizing the Institute’s vision and mission:
1. Upskilled PICPAns
More opportunities were determined for members to earn more Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units, upgrade their skills and competencies, and promote lifelong learning.
2. Member Value
Upskilling PICPAns becomes a foundation to create better member value. Streamlining PICPA’s membership services and uplifting the status and value of the CPA profession both locally and globally are some of the ways to achieve this goal.
3. Upscaled Network
To upscale network, PICPA will continue building ties and strengthening links with other relevant local and international organizations.
4. Capacity Development
Develop more professional and operational capacity by pursuing digital literacy and digital systems acceleration programs and enhance PICPA operations.
5. Community and Social Responsibilities
While PICPA seek to balance improving the quality of life of accounting professionals in the Philippines, it also continued its advocacy in promoting sustainable projects for the community and society it serves.
These strategic pillars are built on PICPA’s quest to become a responsive and globally relevant professional organization committed to service excellence towards its members and stakeholders.
